Asil Simsek is a Professional hairstylist, Salon Owner of NYC Balayage (located in Astoria, NY), and TRUSS Professional Global Ambassador. Born and raised in Istanbul, he stepped into the hair world in 2007 as an assistant when he was just 14 years old.His summer job later turned out to be where he discovered himself. After working in many different salons in Istanbul in 2015 Asil moved to New York City, ready to chase the American Dream. In 2016 Asil became a TRUSS Brand Specialist and has been working with the company very closely since then, moving up in the company over the years.
Although Asil loves to teach via hands-on education, he also has mastered social media and content creation, which makes him a well-rounded educator. Utilizing social media and his talent, Asil became a six-figure independent hairstylist within a short period of time. As Asil continued to grow within the hair scene and on social media, his hair-inspired social media accounts went viral in 2016 and he became one of the most influential hair educators on the scene.
Asil’s social media pages currently have a collective following of nearly 1 Million and total views of over 500 M across platforms. While Asil has marked his 10th year on instagram, he loves reflecting on the thought that he has helped motivate thousands of hairstylists around the world by sharing his unique style and ideas.
Currently, Asil maintains his clientele in his own salon while traveling the world to share his passions worldwide.
Asil is now Truss Global Ambassador and has been featured in Beauty Launchpads 2019 30 under 30, Modern Salon TOP 100, nominated for the 2019 AIA Awards Hair Colorist of the Year, and 10X nominated for Behind The Chair #OneShot Nominee as well as Top 25 Balayage Finalists for #oneshotawards 2022.
